Here is a gig poster for Zero at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco – fresh out from under the squeegee @ Hangar18. I printed these by hand with assist from Santiago Pozzi. Six screens were pulled on each print, starting with the trademark Gammalyte Electrachrome™ under-basing and building up the color from there.

There’s been a whirlwind of activity at Hangar18 lately, from the Lemurian Goddess print to Ron Donovan’s Clapton Tour Poster and Chuck Sperry’s Steve Miller and Crystal Caves… now it’s time for a breather! If you’ve ever been to the Hangar, you know I mean that literally.

It’s been almost 20 years since Zero recorded their album Chance In A Million at the Great American, which featured Judge Murphy singing songs penned by Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter and music written by Steve Kimock and Greg Anton.

An edition of 100 + about 30 AP’s were printed for the shows this weekend, a good chunk of the proceeds from poster sales will be benefiting Judge, who needs a new liver.

Lemurian Goddess Art Print

I am proud to present the Lemurian Goddess print, an 11 color silkscreen art print. This project is the culmination of what amounted to a challenge by Ron Donovan 5 years ago while we worked on our first gig poster together for The Mermen. The image is a composite collage from many sources and is highly representative of beings sometimes encountered on the astral plane. The original was created as a gray scale con-tone, without any color concepts until the structure was finished.

The colors were then painstakingly melded from the different tonal values of the gray scale image using gammalyte aesthetic technology™ and layering techniques developed by myself over the last few years. I then went to film and printed over a 3 1/2 day marathon session at Hangar18. Most of the inks were custom created specifically for this project, including metallics and pearlescents.

All orders will ship with a signed special edition matching Silkscreen sticker with rainbow over metallic gold and silver colorway. The First 10 orders will receive a surprise test print from the run.
